Rewires and new installations for buildings that have outgrown their wiring

A rewire is not automatically the answer just because a building is old, but it is the right answer when cables, boards or circuits are damaged, overloaded or so altered that they can no longer be maintained safely. A new installation is the other case: supplies where none exist, for an extension, a change of use or equipment the present wiring was never asked to feed. Both should end with wiring that matches how the building is used now, not a patch on what was there in the 1980s.
