Commercial Fixed Wire EICR

NICEIC & ECA Approved fixed wire EICR

Fixed wire testing checks the permanent wiring in a building: the cables, boards, circuits and sockets that are fixed in place rather than plugged in. The findings are written up as an EICR, which shows the condition of that wiring. It is commonly requested by insurers, landlords and health and safety managers.

Fixed wire EICR testing of the wiring that stays in the building

Fixed wire testing looks at the permanent installation: distribution equipment, cables, circuits and the earthing and bonding that protect them. It does not test the kettles, computers and portable tools plugged into the sockets. Those are a separate inspection. The EICR is the report of the fixed part, which is what most commercial leases and insurance questionnaires are asking about.
